Tis' The Season (Copyright)
Well its day two, and I'm still blogging so that's a good sign. My main reason for blogging today is probably just because I'm so bored just sitting here at work. Its Friday, December 22, and it seems like all my clients have taken the day off. I came into work this afternoon around one, and there was not a single fax or email from any of my clients. I've received a total of two emails all day today, both of them from Lhomond. The first email reminded me which reports I needed to process today, and the second was just an email wishing everyone Merry Christmas. Now that I've finished processing the reports and read almost every article on Sports Illustrated.com, I officially have nothing else to do. To curb my appetite and to take my mind of things, i stole a box of Cheez-It's from my dads office and am now practicing the age old art of killing time. There is a fine mist of snow falling outside but, due to the location of my cubical, I am not privileged enough to see this happening. For all I know, the snow has stopped falling and the outside world is now basking in a sea of sunshine (I can assume this is not the case, for I can still hear the heater running and can still feel the cold nipping at my fingers). I've decided the only good thing about the cold is that the cold means snow, and snow means Christmas. Without snow, the Christmas season just wouldn't be the same. If I were in charge of everything though, I would make it so that snow wasn't so darn cold. I hate having to wake up in the morning in a cold basement, having to walk outside to the bitter chill, and having to scrape the ice off my frozen windshield. Trials such as these are the price of cold and, honestly, i don't think anyone really enjoys being cold. The only good cold has ever given us is ice cream, and other frozen delicacies. But on to the happier parts of the Christmas season.....all next week my boss is out of the office, and there is always the possibility that I'll be able to take time off and enjoy the so called "Christmas Vacation". Now that I've graduated from High School, I have really come to appreciate how easy it truly was. You were actually able to enjoy time you had off, and didn't have to stress to much on days you were out of school. There was no worry about balancing vacation days or sick days, and you always had three whole months of summer to look forward to at the end of the school year. The part we took most for granted though was just how easy High School really was. There were no real punishments for not turning in an assignment or for coming in late to class. In the real world, missing tasks and frequent tardies can cost you your job. It's a shame that we couldn't really appreciate how great High school was, for our wish was always for school to come to an end so that we, "could actually be free". We had no idea how truly free we really were....
