Two-Thousand-And-Seven Resolutions For The Year 2007
Well the old year has passed on, and the new one is here. Just think, there are only 362 days until we get to celebrate the New Year again (or are there 8,688 hours, or 521,280 minutes). I guess overall this past year hasn't been that bad. It was sure full of a lot of learning expierences though. I learned that if you go golfing with Dalon Horner, be sure not to let him drive or else you'll end up flying out of the golf cart and cascading down the hill head over heels. I learned that if you want to get Kesia Marie to ever kiss you (even if you've been dating for six months), you need her mom to twist her arm til it nearly breaks. I learned that if you want to graduate High School, you need to get up and go to class every now and then (its not required to go everyday though, so long as you work your ass off the last month of school making up everything you missed). I learned what it feels like to finally be 18, and all the added nothingness this hallowed age comes with (you'd think you'd get something special for living through 6,570 days!). I learned what it feels like to have an office job, and what real deadlines are and the real consequences that come when you don't meet them. I sure learned what it feels like to fall in and out of love, and I have two wonderfully amazing girls to thank for that expierence (the two of you know who you are and yes, Hannah you are one of them). I learned that hanging out with Travis can be one of the most life threatening, if not one of the most enjoyable expierences anyone can have, and i'm especially glad that I was able to spend the majority of my year doing just that. I learned what it feels like to get kicked out of a parents house, and all the hurt and pain that expierence causes. I learned how much fun you can really have working fast food, and I have Kyle Axelguard, Paul Ochoa, Kesia Horner, Lisa Parkin, and everyone else there to thank for that. I also learned though, that you can't spend your whole life working fast food, and I have all of my co-workers here at Reed Data to thank for that bit of knowledge. I learned all about how my grandma met my grandpa, how they fell in love, evertying about all the dates they used to go on two or three times a week, and all because my grandma loves to talk so much (and honestly I hope I learn even more about the two of them in this new year). I learned that for Kesia to be happy, everything has to go her way (and thats one of the only things about her i don't like). I learned that when you play with fire you get burned, and that it can be more fun to be a leader at scout camp then it is to be a scout. I learned that we all make stupid decisions in life, but that as long as we learn something from those decisions, maybe the weren't so stupid after all. I learned that the real failure in life is not when everyone else gives up on you, but when you give up on yourself. I learned that Travis Moulton put it best when he said (and I quote), "All the rich people live up on the hill, and all their crap flows down to the poor people living below." I learned that California is a lot prettier than Utah is, and that its nice to have good connections with people who have connections with people who work at Disney Land. I learned that you can't spend the whole year doing everything you want, but as long as you can be happy with that you'll be just fine. I learned what it feels like to grow apart from a friend, and hopefully this year I learn what it feels like to grow back together again. I learned to love more music than just country, and to love country music even more than I already did. I learned that when you get a phone bill for $300 three months in a row that it can be a lot of money (even though it can be totally worth it). Lastly, I learned that even though we are all a year older, most of us aren't really that different than we've always been, and sadly, we'll probably still be just as stubborn this next year too.
